Remembering Angela....

Al, Mom & Susan at her 90th Birthday Party

My last post was just before Mother's Day and I posted the cards for both my mom and my mother-in-law. I was grateful that my husband took her card and gifts to her a few days before Mother's Day.

It is with a heavy heart that this post is to remember my mother-in-law, Angela LaCroix.  She fell on Mother's Day, early in the morning, fracturing her 2nd cervical vertebrae.  At the age of 91, with multiple health issues, she was just not able to overcome this latest trauma.  She passed away on  Saturday, May 18th.

Her funeral was last Wednesday.  She was truly loved by her family which is quite large.  As a tribute to their grandmother, my daughters printed off over 100 photos of her throughout her life, made photo folders out of cardstock, and had them available for family and friends to take with them as a memento of their mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, friend....

Thank you Yvonne, Julie, Aimee for this thoughtful gesture.

We Are Truly Blessed!

Both my mom (age 85) and my mother-in-law (age 91) are still with us!  So we treasure each Mother's Day we have with them.  With my niece due next month with her first baby, we will celebrate Mother's Day this year with 3 Generations!  My hubby is spearheading the dinner and he is a great cook so I am looking forward to a wonderful day!

I chose a Vintage theme for cards this year.  Tea for Two designer series paper was the inspiration so utilized Lucky Limade, Calypso Coral and So Saffron card stock, ink and ribbon to coordinate.  I also used English Ivy Simple Sentiments stationary to line the card on the inside and of course, used the coordinating envelope as well. I finished off the cards with a Vintage Faceted Ribbon and tucked a doily as another layer.

Happy Scrapbooking!

May is National Scrapbooking Month!  My hard drive on my computer failed a couple of weeks ago and at this point have not been able to recover any of my old files - including My Digital Studio (MDS).  So will need to re-create projects I have been working on.  I have a goal of becoming more proficient with MDS so this will give me a reason to get back on and practice some more, right?  I keep telling myself that it's a good thing...

In the meantime, here is a 2 page layout we did this month in Scrapbook Camp

Supplies: Basic Gray, Primrose Petals, Pool Party & Whisper White card stock; Basic Gray/Basic Black Two-Tone Ribbon; Paper Doilies; DSP from Afternoon Daydream Simply' Scrappin Kit.
