Stampin' Up! Butterfly Bouquet

I was playing around with the February Paper Pumpkin Kit, Bouquet of Hope.  I pulled apart an envelope and cut the lining to use as a background.  And that is where the Paper Pumpkin Kit product ended.  Sitting on my table was this large Butterfly from the upcoming Butterfly Bistro Designer Series Paper.  This card is what I ended up with.  I like how it turned out.  I hope you do as well.

Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin Bouquet of Hope

Yesterday I posted about the upcoming March Paper Pumpkin Kit.  Today I want to share what I did with the February Kit, Bouquet of Hope.  The first photo shows the cards I made as designed by the Paper Pumpkin Team.  They came together very quickly.

The next three photos show alternative designs using (most) product from the kit.  I love creating different cards with the kit.  There is a web site for Paper Pumpkin users where demonstrators and customers can post their alternative cards.  It provides great inspiration!

I brought in different stamp sets and embellishments. The Mossy Meadow striped background on the first card was made by taking part one of the lined envelopes and using it as designer paper.

Stampin' Up! Butterfly Bouquet

I am participating in a Fun Fold swap and wanted to use the new Butterfly Bouquet Bundle and Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper that will be available on March 2.  If this layout looks familiar, my Monday post featured the same fun fold using the Hydrangea Hill Suite.  The fun thing about this layout is that you have a portrait style card or a landscape style.  Sweet! I posted the directions on Monday and have included them again for your stamping pleasure!

Fun fold Directions:
There are two card bases - one at 4 1/4" x 11" (scored at 2 3/4") and a second one at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" (scored at 2 1/8").  This is basically a gate card fold for both pieces.

I find it easier to fold the scored side down, then fold the unscord side into the center so they meet.  Use your bone folder to get  good creases. They are attached at the inside center. I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

It helps to stamp your inside center piece before starting to fold it.  You will want to fold the card before placing the designer series paper pieces on it.  When folding the card, fold the left side in first, then the top, followed by the right side and ending with the bottom side, tucking it in to create the box top effect.  Again, crease as you go.  Note: the cardstock will not meet in the middle - you will have a little square that will be covered up by your center piece. Adhere your designer series paper pieces to each quadrant.

Put a dimensional on the top left of your center piece and adhere it to the top left piece.  Be careful not to put any adhesive to the other three pieces or you will not be able to open the card.

Stampin' Up! Butterfly Bouquet

I wanted to make a card using the Sneak Peek Butterfly Bouquet Bundle (available starting March 2) using colors that are not in the Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper for another make & take from our meeting.  The strip on the left is the Natural Touch Specialty Designer Series Paper (available March 2 - May 3).  I die cut the butterflies with the Pearlescent Specialty Designer Series Paper that is currently in the January - June Mini Catalog.  I love the shimmer behind the Basic Black overlay.

Stampin' Up! Butterfly Bouquet

This is a card we made at our team meeting earlier this week using the Butterfly Bouquet bundle that will be available starting March 2.  While the bundle will be available in upcoming Annual Catalog (May 4, 2021- April, 2022), the designer paper will not.  (I did post the details about this "Sneak Peek" promotion yesterday).

It may be hard to see but the butterflies on this piece of designer series paper has some colors marbled in them.  I used the Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Bermuda Bay Watercolor Pencils and lightly streaked these colors on the stamped butterfly.  I did not blend them with a blender pen.  I wanted the colors to coordinate with the designer series paper.
