Susan's Sparkler's Team Challenge

The name of my Stampin' Up! team is Susan's Sparklers.  We are all about the sparkle!  I have a Facebook page just for my team where we share ideas, questions, project samples.  One of the activities I post are challenges.  It may be a color combination challenge, a seasonal challenge, whatever tickles my fancy.

We just finished up a Christmas in July Challenge.  Those team members that posted a Christmas Card were entered into a drawing for a prize.  The winner of this challenge is Cindy Marshall.

Stampin' Up! Graceful Glass Flag

As soon as I saw this piece of Graceful Glass Designer Vellum paper, I thought of our beloved American Flag.  I know I am posting this after the July 4th holiday but we do live in the greatest country, right?  

And deep in my heart, I think of my father.  He was born on Memorial Day in 1927 and died last year one day shy of his 90th birthday.  I always made him a patriotic card for his birthday.  His life was certainly a reason to celebrate.

Stampin' Up! Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper

Happy Birthday, Julie!  Our middle daughter recently celebrated a milestone birthday.  I had a completely different card in mind when I pulled out the Tropical Escape suite.  But the designer series paper is so pretty!  I started playing around with the different designs and liked how this looked together.

I embossed the Happy Birthday with White embossing powder and added a few rhinestones and white ribbon to finish it off.  Clean and simple.

Stampin' Up! Under the Mistletoe

Before we know it, the Holidays will be here.  As I write this, it is 80 + degree July day.  But for those of us in the papercrafting business, we are starting to think about the upcoming Holiday Catalog.  I will be getting my Holiday Catalog on the Alaskan Cruise Incentive Trip and can pre-order in early August.  I am planning my Holiday Catalog kick-off for September.

Stampin' Up! DistINKtive Healing Hugs Video Tutorial

The new DistINKtive line of stamps are fun to work with.  If you are not familiar with it, Stampin' Up!'s Design team came up with a new process for making stamps.  In fact, it is patent pending. 

Check out the video at the bottom of the page to see a couple of different ways to use this stamp.  I hope you try this technique.  Play around with different color combinations.  Each flower will turn out a little bit different - just like Mother Nature.

Stampin' Up! Graceful Glass Coloring Suite

In addition to the beautiful Graceful Glass Designer Vellum paper, the Painted Glass stamp set has some beautiful images, including these roses.  It was fun using the Stampin' Blends and Color Lifter to create the shading and dimension.  I started with the light Calypso Coral, shaded the flowers with the dark Calypso Coral, then followed up using the Color Lifter to remove some of the ink to add some highlights. 

 After die cutting them it was just a matter of creating a stacked collage effect with a doily, ribbon, vellum piece and sequins.
